Yugoslav Officers Selling Guns to Guerrillas MUHOVAC, Dec 29, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) The leader of a group of separatist rebels fighting government forces in southern Serbia claimed Thursday that corrupt Yugoslav army officers had sold weapons to his fighters.
As a fighter brought out an apparently brand-new SKS semi-automatic rifle of the kind issued to Yugoslav reservists, Xhemaili claimed the guns could be bought in batches of 50 to 100 at a cost of 200 German marks (94 dollars/102 euros) each.
"They have even offered us two tanks for 200,000 marks each," the rebel commander claimed, "Their only problem was how to get them past the Serb-held villages, but otherwise the deal was on."

Stalin is Putin Role Model Say Georgia's Communists TBILISI, Dec 28, 2000 -- (Reuters) Georgia's Communists have voted to "rehabilitate" fellow countryman Josef Stalin, and say they believe the disgraced Soviet dictator is a role model for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Party chiefs say Putin's admiration is evident in his decision to restore the stirring Soviet-era tune, personally approved by Stalin, as Russia's new national anthem.
Vakhtang Goguadze, leader of the National Patriotic Union allied to the Communists, said Russia's Putin was the natural heir to the Stalin legacy because of his commitment to building a strong Russian state.

Stalin Should be Rehabilitated, Say Georgian Communists TBILISI, Dec 27, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) Georgia's Communists Wednesday adopted a resolution demanding the rehabilitation of their compatriot Stalin, claiming the Soviet dictator had been the victim of "lies" by enemies of the Soviet Union.
"The enemies of the USSR spread lies about Josef Vissarionovich Stalin with the aim of destroying the Soviet Union," the Georgian Communist Party's general secretary, Panteleimon Georgadze, told a party congress.
He ended by calling upon Russian President Vladimir Putin to "reintegrate the ex-Soviet republics around a Greater Russia," to a burst of applause among the 600 people present.
The Georgian communist party congress opened to the strains of the Soviet anthem, recently reintroduced in Russia by Putin, and concluded with the hymn of the Soviet republic of Georgia, no longer played since Tbilisi won independence after the break-up of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Two weeks ago, a statue to the Soviet dictator was erected on the main square of Stalin's hometown of Gori at the initiative of local communists, who proclaimed that the 21st century would be the century of Stalinism again.

Putin Promises to Work for Better Living Standards MOSCOW, Dec 26, 2000 -- (Reuters) President Vladimir Putin said on Monday his efforts were focused on improving the lives of millions of ordinary Russians, creating a better environment for honest business and crushing the political influence of tycoons.
"When we considered where we should start economic reform, we came to the conclusion that we cannot do anything without having in hand an effective instrument to pursue our course," Putin said, defending his bid to centralize power.
"In our country oligarchs are understood as major businessmen who tried to influence political decisions behind the scenes," Putin said. "There should be no such group of people."

Editor's commentary: That's how Stalin envisioned USSR. Putin believes that this is the right way to go while offering some lame excuses for sacking all who might challenge him. Putin Defends Ties With Iran and Other "Rogue States" MOSCOW, Dec 26, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) Russian President Vladimir Putin Monday defended Moscow's improving ties with Soviet-era allies such as Iraq, Cuba and North Korea and vowed to continue building closer trade relations with Iran.
Putin, who has visited Cuba and North Korea, said while that Soviet relations with its former Cold war allies had been strictly "ideological" Russia would now use its influence with these countries for pragmatic reasons.

Editor's commentary: We always knew that Stalin used communist ideology for more "pragmatic" reasons like stealing wealth from colonies and robbing its own people. What to expect from Georgian brigand, bank robber, murderer, psychopath and paranoid dictator. It is too bad that Putin never had enough time to read Trotsky because he was too busy playing agent double o(r) nothing and seducing women Olympic team in Eastern Germany. That would help him understand the truth about Stalin, KGB and USSR. All these rogue states were normal members of international community before KGB ousted their governments and appointed their own totalitarian governments. Putin wants to preserve these rogue states not because he cares about them but because he needs them as bargaining chips against U.S. Putin is like the blast from the KGB past, he still lives in Stalin's days of purges and arms race during Cold War. His favorite movie is "Top Gun" and all he ever wanted is to fly over some U.S. carrier in his MIG and make a photo of it. I guess that men are tired in Russia so they have to let kids playing war games and that can be dangerous.

Editor's commentary: It seems that US will have to lead Europeans for awhile because they are either naive or plain stupid. Only Djindjic's party DS is worth something inside DOS and they will have only 45 seats from total of 250 in Serbian parliament. DOS will likely break and in that case Djindjic can be booted out from the position of Serbian PM easily similar to what happened in 1997 when he was booted out from the position of Belgrade mayor thanks to his coalition partner Vuk Draskovic. Even if DOS doesn't break, parties like Kostunica's Nazi DSS, Milosevic's satellites like ND will almost certainly block any important and crucial reforms thus prolonging chaos in Serbia.

French Trial Reportedly Ordered for Soros By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
PARIS, Dec. 22 An investigating magistrate has ordered the American financier George Soros and three others to stand trial next year on charges that they took part in a 1988 insider-trading scheme involving shares of a French bank, Société Générale, which had been privatized the previous year, people close to the judiciary said today. Charges against seven other people were said to have been dropped.
It was not immediately clear what specific charges the four defendants would face. French magistrates have been investigating the case for 12 years.
A message left with a spokesman at Soros Fund Management in New York after business hours was not immediately returned.
Along with Mr. Soros, the others ordered to stand trial, these people said, were Charles Naouri, a former senior official in the French finance ministry; Samir Traboulsi, a Lebanese businessman who was convicted on unrelated insider-trading charges in 1993; and Jean-Pierre Peyraud, a former French banker.
Le Monde, the newspaper, reported today that the four were suspected of benefiting from privileged information during an operation to try to buy up part of the capital of Société Générale.

Serbian State Media -- Freed Or Just Changing Sides? Milovan Jaukovic, foreign editor at the independent daily Danas, said most journalists in state media were the same as during the Milosevic era. "They actually only changed sides," he said. "It is a not a real change."
Natasa Kandic, a human rights activist and director of the Belgrade-based Humanitarian Law Center, took a similar line.
"I must admit that what I see in the media, and especially in the media that call themselves 'liberated', they simply compete with each other in who will speak more badly about those who were in power," she told the weekly magazine NIN.
Aleksandar Djordjevic, information officer at the European Commission's office in Belgrade, said state media had become
more open but still lacked professionalism. "The approach is the same; to be positive about whoever is in power."Full story here.

Likely Premier Aims at New Stability for Serbia BELGRADE, Dec 20, 2000 -- (Reuters) Zoran Djindjic, poised to become Serbia's next prime minister after elections this
weekend, said on Tuesday he aimed to transform his country into a source of stability after years of turmoil in the Balkans."It will not be a job for the government. We will not give orders to arrest Mr. Milosevic but we will let the courts do their work and I cannot imagine that Milosevic can avoid facing justice in this country," he told Reuters in an interview.
"With the intention to build a non-corrupt system in Serbia, we have many enemies. And many special interest groups are very well organized and partly connected also with parts of the former opposition. But we don't have an alternative."
Djindjic said he was willing to compromise with Milo Djukanovic, the president of Montenegro who wants more
autonomy or independence, to reach a deal which would keep the two republics inside a single state."All he wants is just symbols for us. It's not so important who is in charge of the (federal Yugoslav) state -- it can be six months for Montenegro, six months for Serbia," he said.
Asked if the current post of Yugoslav president occupied by Vojislav Kostunica would remain, Djindjic replied: "Maybe not in the sense as now. From my point of view, Mr. Kostunica would also be a perfect Serbian president."
"I think we will succeed and we will stay together long enough to establish conditions for normal democratic politics in Serbia," he said.

Kostunica Wants Kosovo Pact Amended to Oust Rebels BELGRADE, Dec 20, 2000 -- (Reuters) Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica said on Tuesday a buffer zone bordering Kosovo should be narrowed to give Belgrade more means to "cleanse" the area of ethnic Albanian rebels because NATO had
failed to do the job."We have to cleanse this zone of terrorists and use that term (cleanse) because it cannot be achieved by the one-sided
presence or intervention of KFOR," Kostunica said, referring to the NATO-led peacekeeping force in post-war Kosovo."KFOR has shown itself incapable of hermetically sealing the frontier between Kosovo and the rest of Serbia, on the contrary they have made it very very porous.
"We still have terrorist activity, murders and other violence, so we need another solution," Kostunica said, urging a U.N.
Security Council session on the issue scheduled later on Tuesday to come up with a practical alternative."Inside the (current) zone, our police can use only 7.62mm light arms while the terrorists have heavy weapons and all the rest," Kostunica said, alluding to support arms such as mortars said by Belgrade to have been fired from inside the zone.
Full story here.
Editor's commentary: Kostunica's real face shows up, ethnic cleansing is his ultimate goal. Pure, white orthodox and socialist Serbia forever Russian colony. He usually likes to argue that Kosovo is part of FRY and that's why there must be federal jurisdiction over Kosovo but now he complains that KFOR didn't seal borders between Kosovo and the rest of Serbia!? What gives? Does he want Vojvodina to be also sealed from the rest of Serbia? Kostunica needs another solution presumably final solution as Milosevic pursued in 1999. That's why he needs Milosevic's special forces with mortars, tanks, helicopters, napalm bombs, nerve gas and bio weapons. Not long ago he complained about NATO using uranium shells and use of excessive force against FRY.

Belgrade Will Respond With "All Possible Means" if Attacked in South BELGRADE, Dec 20, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) Belgrade will respond with "all possible means if attacked by terrorists" in the tense southern Serbian region bordering Kosovo, deputy Prime Minister Nebojsa Covic said Tuesday, quoted by the Beta news agency.
Covic said that Belgrade's security forces have counted "1,600 terrorists" in the demilitarized zone five kilometers (three miles) wide between Kosovo and the rest of Serbia, noting that snipers were also seen in one of the villages.
And former army chief Momcilo Perisic, one of the leaders of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS), the coalition
backing reformist President Vojislav Kostunica, said he was convinced the problems in the area would be solved "by diplomatic means."But he insisted that the Yugoslav army and the police "could solve it in couple of hours," Beta reported.
Kostunica said Tuesday that NATO-led peacekeepers were unable to solve the unrest in the region and called for other ways
of tackling the situation to be considered, including a possible reduction in the size of the buffer zone.Full story here.
Editor's commentary: It seems that DOS and Kostunica are considering another campaign of terror and ethnic cleansing of those who oppose tyranny and dictatorship. Those who fight for freedom are labeled "terrorists". Belgrade is always open to negotiations and diplomacy but refuses even to consider any reasonable deal with political representatives of those who are supposed to be citizens of FRY. Government in Belgrade is not people's government but government of terror and oppression that only wants to exploit its own people and label all those who are against it as "terrorists". They do not kill women and children as FRY's army and police does, they just fight for their survival against well armed and trained military and police force.
What a fine bunch of leaders in DOS. Kostunica, Serbian Nazi, Covic, former member of Milosevic's SPS, former of mayor of Belgrade whose legacy was sending police to brutally beat up workers of Belgrade public transportation, denying them their right to strike and jailing them, Momcilo Perisic, Milosevic's general who organized army terror in Slovenia and Croatia, siege of Sarajevo and ethnic cleansing campaign in Bosnia. Kostunica wants international community to give up on human rights issues in FRY and legitimize state terror, Covic and Perisic threaten with force if this doesn't happen. What really surprise me here is Perisic's statement that Yugoslav army and the police could solve it in couple of hours!? Does he have an amnesia or just continues with Stalinist rhetorics of Milosevic? If situation could be solved in just couple of hours then how come that Kosovo crisis was never resolved that way and how come that Kosovo is not under control of federal government? During Milosevic's days tens of thousands of "terrorists and their families have been slaughtered and yet that didn't help resolving burning political issues regarding Kosovo.
This is the reason why FS Net as well as all other people in FRY who want freedom and see the end to the state terror doesn't support DOS. DOS is identical to Milosevic's SPS, the only difference between them is that DOS is more cooperative with the West but that is the result of necessity induced by destroyed economy and conversion of state into criminal entrepreneurship that needs more money for its existence from abroad. Their "winning" streak is the result of dirty deals between Putin-KGB and Clinton-Gore administrations and certainly not "will of the people" who live today even worse than ever before. DOS is more preoccupied with foreign policy and military exercise of force rather than the problems of ordinary people and their struggle to survive years of prolonged and devastating state terror that deprived them from their private property, money from their savings accounts, salaries, pensions and even their lives. DOS more stands for Dictatorship (of Kostunica) and Oppression (of people) of Serbia than Democratic Opposition of Serbia. They even introduced new democratic rules similar to those in former German Democratic Republic, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Cuba, Iraq or Putin's KGB Russia. Elections are now obsolete, there is no need for campaigning, there is no need to have election issues and contests like in America, there is no need to wait for results and finally there is no need to wait and see who will be new ministers and members of parliament. This is true interpretation of Marxism and communist philosophy. You don't need political experts or even psychic network to predict outcome of Serbian elections on December 23rd. It is already known that between 70%-80% of voters will cast their ballots (Albanians included), that DOS will win almost all seats in parliament (80%-90%), that the new Serbian PM will be Zoran Djindjic, that everything will be no irregularities during elections including foreign observers who pledged to close their eyes and let DOS and Milosevic do what ever they want to. So much about OSCE, Human Rights Watch and Soros' non-government non-political organizations. Who gives a damn about democracy. We would like to call all of you to boycott elections but again you have already voted for DOS although you don't know that yet. They will tell you later, like they told me after elections in September although I haven't been in Serbia once for the past ten years. I was previously casting my vote for Milosevic and now I cast my vote to DOS and you thought that if you are not physically present and you are not even citizen of FRY that you can't vote. Wrongo!!! says Grinch or should I say Milosevic, Kostunica and the rest of the politicians and gangsters in Serbia. I really can't imagine democracy can go further down in Serbia then it is today. This is the worst and the most corrupted hypocrisy and perversion of an idea of democracy in the history of the world that can be only rivaled by similar cases in the countries I already mentioned above. It is truly said that these things happen in the 21st century in the year we all dreamed about readin and watching Space Odyssey 2001.

Republican Group Seeks to Unseat Three Justices MIAMI, Dec. 19 In one of the first signs of political fallout from the bitter struggle over the contested presidential vote here, a Republican-led group is seeking to unseat three Florida Supreme Court justices who ruled in favor of hand recounts sought by Vice President Al Gore.
The group, the Emergency Florida State Supreme Court Project, has sent letters to some 350,000 voters inside and outside of Florida asking for donations to help oust Chief Justice Charles T. Wells and Justices Leander J. Shaw Jr. and Harry Lee Anstead.
All three justices were appointed by Democratic governors to six-year terms. Justices Anstead and Wells are scheduled to face Florida voters in 2002 in a yes-or- no judicial retention election. Justice Shaw is scheduled to retire in 2003, when he will be 70.
The letter, mailed out Friday, is signed by Mary McCarty, a Republican county commissioner in Palm Beach County. In the letter, Ms. McCarty, a 10-year incumbent commissioner, calls the Florida Supreme Court's behavior in the presidential election "an outrageous, arrogant power- grab by a left-wing court which is stuck in the liberal 60's."

Gusinsky Case not Political, Says Spanish Prosecutor MADRID, Dec 14, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) The chief prosecutor of the Spanish court which will decide whether to extradite detained Russian media magnate Vladimir Gusinsky has said the extradition demand is not political, and should therefore be accepted.
"This concerns a common law offense, Russia is a democratic country which has signed the European convention on
extradition," said Fungarino in remarks printed in the El Pais newspaper."You cannot say this is a political process, or more precisely, lawyers will use that argument but we should not take notice of them because we cannot question the legality of the procedure in Russia," he added.
Full story here.
Editor's commentary: These things happen when communist elements take power in the West. Fortunately, this was not the case during Stalin's purges in '30s. Just imagine Trotsky and millions of others being deported back to Russia because "we cannot question the legality of the procedure in Russia"!? Only a die hard Stalinist would say such a thing. Spanish court must and I repeat must fully investigate charges brought by Russian government against Gusinsky including all the evidence and potential witnesses as well as allowing Gusinsky and his attorneys to defend themselves against these ridiculous charges. China frequently charges dissidents with "hooliganism" although most of them do nothing more then practicing passive resistance.
But this is no surprise because of recent extradition demands for Pinochet requested by another Spanish court. What we don't understand and we are therefore surprised is what the hell was Gusinsky doing in Spain? He was aware that Russia would seek international arrest warrant and knowing what is going on in Spain everyone would avoid it as plague. Why didn't he go to Cuba or North Korea instead?

What Next for Gore? Writing? 2004 White House Bid? WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Shortly before Election Day, Democrat Al Gore openly mused that if he failed to win the White House, he might return to a career in writing.
If this former best-selling author and investigative reporter does so -- perhaps while gearing up for another White House bid while serving as a university president or some sort of public crusader -- he could begin with a mystery: ``Who really got the most votes in Florida in the 2000 race?''
Gore is convinced he did. But the definitive answer may never be known since voter intent could forever be an unfathomable question on thousands of disputed ballots.
``I really don't know what Al will do next, and I'm not sure he does, either,'' said a longtime adviser. ``He could go back to writing or a college campus. That could be a good place to begin to another run for the presidency.''

Florida Recounts Halted by High Court The Supreme Court, divided 5-4, intervened once again Saturday in the deadlocked presidential race, granting George W. Bush's plea to halt the Florida vote count on which Al Gore had pinned his best hopes of winning the White House.
The high court ordered both sides to present oral arguments Monday on the underlying legal issues in the marathon recount case and one justice suggested that Bush might hold an upper hand in the court's eventual decision.
The court's decision froze the recount of thousands of ballots in dozens of Florida counties just hours after they had started. By midday, Gore had picked up two votes, reducing Bush's lead to a bare 191 according to an unofficial Associated Press count.

Source: Yahoo - November 30thGore Media Offensive Gore, who leads in the national popular vote in the Nov. 7 election and says he would have won Florida if all its ballots had been counted, launched a media offensive on Wednesday, appearing on three major networks' evening news programs to argue his case.
The judge handling the Gore lawsuit in Florida, Leon County Circuit Judge N. Sanders Sauls, granted a request from Bush's lawyers for all 1.16 million ballots cast in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties to be shipped to the state capital for possible recounting, not just the nearly 14,000 disputed ballots requested by the Democrats.
Sauls said the ballots should all be transferred to Tallahassee under police escort to await his ruling on Saturday on whether a count -- and how big a one -- is necessary.
Gore aides said they were concerned that delays in the circuit court would ``defeat the rights of the people of Florida to have their votes counted.''
After a slew of polls this week showed that up to 60 percent of Americans believed that Gore should concede the election, CBS News and The New York Times issued a poll on Wednesday showing that only 42 percent wanted the Democrat to give up now.
Forty-eight percent said that it was too soon for any concession. The poll of 1,012 adults was taken on Monday and Tuesday after Gore began appealing directly to the American public for what he described as a full and accurate count of all votes cast.

Editor's commentary: Just remember what we told you about those phony polls in Serbia couple of months ago, they were all fake and paid by Clinton-Gore administration. Serbia was just testing ground for bigger scam, this time in America. If any of you regularly read NY Times then you know that there wasn't a single neutral and objective editorial regarding American presidential elections. NY Times has become propaganda tool of DNC that brings us back to the glory days of Hitler and Stalin propaganda. We also told you long time ago that Radmila Milentijevic, Milosevic's former information minister and propaganda chief regularly visited NY Times influencing them and paying them to support Milosevic's genocidal campaigns in Bosnia and Kosovo. You sure do remember Chris Hedges and his epic stories about great Serb "hero" Radovan Karadzic and his "environmental cleaning" campaign. Online community voted 68% that Gore should concede on Netscape home page yesterday. No one is rigging the vote there, just simple people who express their opinion.
In recent NY Times editorial, Al Gore's mercenaries mentioned that he will not respect any decisions of U.S. Supreme Court because majority of them was appointed by Republican presidents!? You can disrespect someone only if there is something illegal going on but not if your people are not there. FS Net doesn't respect government of Fascist Republic of Yugoslavia not because we don't have our people there but because FRY was formed illegally by the decision of a dictator Milosevic, not by the will of the people. Al Gore would respect decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court if there would be more Justices appointed by Democratic presidents and not because current Justices were illegally appointed and obstruct justice in favor of Republicans. That is the difference of constitutional proportions, difference between totalitarianism and democracy. Gore's argument that Bush didn't respect Florida Supreme Court decisions is untrue because Bush legally challenged their decision in the U.S. Supreme Court that has the jurisdiction over the state supreme courts and their decision is always final. Only Gore knows why would Florida Supreme Court stand above the U.S. Supreme Court and their final decision. If he wants he can run for governorship against Jeb Bush but not presidency of The United States of America. President is elected according to federal laws and rules not local state rules and there is nothing to discuss here. Florida can't itself invent extra rules and laws or abolish federal laws and rules when presidency of USA is in question. In every state federal regulations, rules and laws must be respected or the presidency would have no legitimacy. If all votes must be recounted if the difference between two candidates is less than half percent then this must be a federal regulation, rule or law that applies on all states of the Union not just Florida. Florida laws are not applicable on election procedures for federal institutions. That's why Bush and his team complained about and that's what the U.S. Supreme Court will consider before they reach final and ultimate decision that can not be appealed. If someone doesn't want to respect U.S. Supreme Court then he should not run for the post of the president. It is simple like that although Gore's mercenaries from NY Times like to confuse people and put the pressure on the U.S. Supreme Court for the sake of cold hard cash obtained through money laundering operations. It is hard to believe that there are any serious and professional journalists there.
Gore's "will of the people" is reminding us of People's Republic of China or Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Communists do like to call their tyranny "will of the people" but reality is something completely different. This is probably caused by large money donations to Gore's campaign from those countries where "will of the people" is so "respected", in countries where people vote for the rule of secret police and abolishment of privacy and private property. Everyone is laughing in Serbia about Milosevic's famous phrase "I love you too" in response to cheering crowd of his supporters that had to be paid to attend his rally. Gore's term "will of the people" means that vote rigging should be legitimized and those who do that should be awarded. What else to say when he insists that dimpled votes or even those where two candidates were selected be counted as his votes!?
You can try this at your home. Take 20 sheets of paper and try to staple them with ordinary 15 page stapler. Check out 16th page and the rest where staple did not come through. It is crystal clear that those ballot cards were punched by someone who punched 10 or hundred of them at the same time. Only top three cases should be counted and there is nothing to discuss about it. No one is supposed to decide what voters had in mind but just how many voted for candidate of their choice. Just think of what will happen with the school system in USA if this becomes practice. Students asking for recounts, explaining that their choice was under c) not d), that only 15% of the box was filled and that should count, bringing attorneys to help them pass the tests, attorneys giving diplomas to their clients after court battles etc. This happens when someone doesn't want to accept facts, that people don't want him.
But where Al finds his inspiration for all this? He is obviously big fan of Jim Carrey and his movies like "Liar, Liar", "Me, Myself & Tipper", "Man On The Moon", "How The Goreinch Stole Christmas" and "Dumb & Dumber" featuring Al and Bill. Check out 27th Annual People's Choice Awards and clips from these movies. Too bad they don't have our favorite clip "How about we say that the vote was rigged and then we demand recount". Source: Yahoo - November 17thPower of People or Power of Attorney? The count of absentee votes from overseas was the final installment in Florida's routine vote-counting process. With returns from 65 of 67 counties, Bush picked up 1,057 votes and Gore 597, giving the Republican a 760-vote statewide lead - up from 300 when the day began.
Cries of foul came from both camps as the overseas ballots were counted. More than a thousand votes were thrown out as officials from both parties analyzed registrations, postmarks and other details.
``One of the problems with those ballots is it is so difficult under Florida and federal law that you almost have to be a rocket scientist to comply,'' said Thomas Spencer, a Miami attorney working for Bush.
``There are more attorneys than there are ballots,'' said Bob Edwards, chairman of the Republican Executive Committee for Walton County, where five absentee votes were tossed out, including those of four people who had already voted. In Orange County, officials discarded 117 of 147 votes received.
``I want to be clear neither Governor Bush, nor the Florida secretary of state, nor I will be the arbiter of this election,'' Gore said shortly after the high court ruling. ``This election is a matter that must be decided by the will of the people as expressed under the rule of law.''
Full story here.
Editor's commentary: So much about "the will of the people". People's ballots have been tossed out because of technicalities called by dozens of attorneys. If machines make mistakes they don't favor candidates. That's why machine counting is better than attorney counting of ballots. You don't have to wonder then why people hate attorneys and tell jokes about attorneys at the bottom of the sea. What's next, bringing psychiatrist to implant false memories into voters heads and tell them for whom to vote? "You don't want to vote for candidate X, you want to vote for candidate Y and no one should vote for candidate Z. You have to remember while you were a kid that candidate X increased price of a chewing gum and candidate Z banned candy bars from your local grocery store. Candidate Y allowed firecrackers to be sold to the minors and that's why you should vote for him. Once again, what is the name of the candidate you are going to vote? Putin! Wrong, damn it! Will they ever update those Stalinist manuals on how to convince voters what is the best for them."

Putin's Popularity Slips in Russian Opinion Poll MOSCOW, Nov 17, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) Russian President Vladimir Putin has suffered a minor setback in popularity, with his approval rating slipping to 66.3 percent from 71.5 percent a month ago, an opinion poll published Thursday showed.
Full story here.
Editor's commentary: Is there an idiot who believes in this crap? Not even during Stalin days Russians approved leadership with more than 70%. Half of population was in gulags while other half approved Stalin to save their lives. Lack of public executions like the one on Galina Starovoitova and journalists of RFL is probable cause for rating slip. KGB is dissatisfied with that and since they are the one who approve or disapprove Russian leadership then it is understandable why Putin lost 5 percent. Don't worry, recent charges brought against Gusinsky and Berezovsky and attempt to destroy free speech in Russia will have Putin win his 5% back. And when KGB monuments and statues become erected and gulags reopened approval rating will soar to 100%.

Votes by Mentally Ill Disputed in House Race In an odd twist to the bitterly contested race in New Jersey's 12th Congressional District, Republicans accused their Democratic opponents yesterday of inappropriately gathering dozens of votes from hospitalized psychiatric patients.
Although most New Jersey residents institutionalized with mental illness retain the right to vote, the Zimmer campaign said it believed that Democratic Party workers had gone into state psychiatric hospitals with absentee ballots and coerced patients into voting for Mr. Holt, in some cases even filling out the ballots. So far, the Republicans said they had identified 120 ballots cast from a Hunterdon County psychiatric hospital, and were examining votes from at least five other centers.
"We find it troubling that this very close election could be decided by institutionalized patients who were preyed upon by overzealous Democratic operatives," said Steve Schmidt, a spokesman for the Zimmer campaign. "Should these people be the deciding votes in this election? We believe probably not."
"We thought it was some kind of mock ballot, like the kind schoolchildren fill out, but then we learned it was real," said Ms. Kraft, a retired secretary and registered Democrat from Bethlehem Township. "This is beyond the pale. She shouldn't be voting. This is a woman who says that God tells her what shampoo to buy."

Moscow Warns it Can "Respond" to Deployment of U.S. Nuclear Missile Shield "We are capable of responding to the deployment of NMD (national missile defense system) and we have the necessary technological means for this," said the head of the ministry's security and disarmament department, Yury Kapralov.
He told a press conference that Russia "will not respond to the deployment with a similar step" but "has many other means to neutralize the NMD," without elaborating further.
"Do not force us to choose another path than a peaceful one," he said.
Outgoing President Bill Clinton in September postponed a decision on whether to deploy the USD 60 billion NMD system, saying his successor would make that call.

"Nor is the will of the people to replace everybody in the various institutions just because they were members of (Slobodan Milosevic's) Socialist Party of Serbia."
Kostunica's backers, the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS), responded with dismay and one source close to the leadership forecast a split with the president, who rode to power in September on a wave of popular support.
Full story here.
Editor's commentary: We told you long time ago that DOS is bunch of losers. This whole election swindle was about Milosevic fooling West and getting sanctions lifted while he retires peacefully. Kostunica is just Milosevic's Moscow replacement. Everything stays the same but West believes that some change happened in FRY. The name of the country is the same (Fascist Republic of Yugoslavia) and Nazi dictator rules the country while people starve.
Regarding Kostunica's comments I would like to say:
1. Kostunica is not elected president of FRY. He declared himself a president as Al Gore declared his victory in Florida.
2. Institutions of army and police are already destroyed especially after their participation in Kosovo genocide in 1999. People want to rebuild those institutions by sending those responsible for war crimes to the Hague tribunal and getting rid of others who were their accesories.
3. No one asked for replacement of SPS and JUL deputies in federal parliament but for replacement of those who were appointed by previous administration for key posts. People of Serbia didn't vote for Nebojsa Pavkovic (army chief) or Rade Markovic (chief of state security). They were appointed by Milosevic himself and because he is out of his office there is no need to keep those unless Milosevic still rules FRY and he doesn't want them to be removed. Kostunica acts as Milutinovic, Milosevic's lackey who does only what Milosevic tells him.

Gore to Fight; Florida Recount Incomplete WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Al Gore on Thursday challenged the results of Tuesday's presidential contest in Florida as a crucial recount that would finally resolve the disputed election was delayed.
Officials in Palm Beach County, at the center of a growing dispute because of the confusing layout of its ballot, said they would count the votes again by hand on Saturday, although they would not release the recount figures until Monday.
Gore campaign manager William Daley told reporters in the state's capital of Tallahassee that the vice president would not accept the outcome or concede the election to Bush.
Senior Bush campaign officials accused the Gore camp of making inaccurate and distorted claims and damaging U.S. democracy by refusing to accept the results of the election.
